I love seeing more and more Florida Bassers getting a Helium as Florida is my 'first love' as a State. I was born-n-raised in Miami, Florida many 'moons' ago. and the best rod should go with the best State's fishermen . My first three Heliums were the HE70MC model. Obviously, I fell in love with their action, weight(lack of), and Bass catching/landing abilities. I find them to be able to cover so many bait-types as you noticed in your reading. I now have the fourth one along with a HE76HC , a HE76EHC, and my newest, a HE70MLC(which is waiting at my office for me to pick up). Other KIstler Helium fans(fanatics ) prefer other models. The HE69APC model get's lots of use as do the heavier actions. For your use, a 7', 6" MC might be better suited than the 7' MC as you mentioned saltwater fishing for Reds and its ability to give you longer casting distance could be helpful. The HE70MC makes a wonderful, weightless-Senko rod. No matter which model you end up choosing, you have many joyful days ahead of you using your new Helium. Keep us posted.
