EW... whoa whoa.. slow down dude.. Smile

Ok... warning.. getting me started on reels is a very dangerous place to go. Just ask Lightninrod, Ezcue, Chavez, Boone, and everyone else Twisted Evil

Having said that... what is your intended application for this reel? heh heh... makes a big difference on which one I'd recommend. The Chronarch MG is not going to be offered in a left hand version according to Shimano USA - at least not in 2005. So if you want a leftie, the Scorpion MG is the only way to go. The only difference i perceive between the Scorpion MG and the standard Scorp is the weight difference. Practically everything else is identical. Is the weight difference enough to justify the investment? Only you can decide.

I have an article on the Scorpion MG waiting in the wings at TackleTour. My only complaint on that reel is the length of the handle. Seems to be an issue with most of the Shimano Japanese market reels - they're just a tad short. Not a problem for vertical presentations, but if you're throwing any moving baits, I find it more advantageous to have at least an 80mm handle.

The big thing with the Pixy is line capacity. It has a VERY shallow spool and is more suited for 8lb test line max. You can go braided to get more line on it if that's a concern. The drag can handle it. As we like to say over at TT, this reel is BUFF. Just wish it had a micro-click drag adjustment!

If you want performance approaching the Pixy, but line capacity of the Scorpion MG, the natural "compromise" is the Daiwa Alphas. Daiwa offers the TD Sol in the US Market, but again, no left hand version. The Sol's handle is stamped where the Alphas handle is forged. Performance of the reels is comporable, but the Alphas is available in leftie and costs a lot more than the Sol.

I could go on for days. Smile Feel free to email me if you want more suggestions, recommendations, or if you have any further questions.. but don't say I didn't warn you: Twisted Evil Twisted Evil
